This page explains what happens to your information when you use AnywhereBetter.

What we collect

AnywhereBetter doesn't require an account and doesn't ask you to submit personal documents. The passport/destination selector, and your checklist progress, are saved only in your own browser's local storage to personalize the guide you see — none of it is sent to a server.

Analytics

We use PostHog, a privacy-focused analytics provider, to understand which guides are useful and where visitors come from — for example, page views, general location (from IP address, not GPS), device/browser type, and which links or buttons get clicked. We do not use session recording, and this data is not used to identify you individually or sold to third parties. You can read more about how PostHog handles data in its own privacy policy.

Cookies & local storage

We use the minimum cookies or local storage needed for the site to function and to support the analytics described above — remembering your selected passport and destination, which checklist items you've ticked off, and a randomly generated visitor ID so repeat visits aren't double-counted. We do not use this to track you across other, unrelated websites, and we do not sell your data to third parties.

Third-party links

This site links out to official government sources and other references. Once you leave AnywhereBetter, that site's own privacy policy applies — we have no control over external sites.

Future accounts or forms

If we introduce accounts, saved guides, or downloadable forms in future, we'll update this policy to describe exactly what's collected and why before you're asked to provide it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Since we collect very little personal data today, most requests will simply confirm we hold nothing tied to you.
